Next Viva Concert

Thursday, July 15^th at 7.30 p.m. Ajijic Auditorium – Jalisco State Choir

Don’t miss the second concert of the Viva Concert Series featuring the Jalisco State Choir under director Sergio Hernandez Valdez.  The choir will delight us with a varied program of Mexican songs, old and new, serious and not so serious!

Concert Series  

For tickets to the wonderful concerts coming up this season visit the LCS Ticket area July 5 -15, from 10.00 a.m.-12.00 noon.

Season tickets are still for sale! 950 pesos (for members) special price – for the remaining four concerts. Single tickets for members are 250 pesos – (except 300 pesos for the Opera). For non-members single tickets are 300 pesos (except 350 pesos for the opera).                                                                                                 

• Thursday, July 15, 7.30 p.m. The Jalisco State Chorus.
• Thursday, August 19, 7.30 p.m. Isaac Ramirez, cello and Andres Sarre, piano.
• *Tuesday, September 14, 7.30 p.m. the Ensemble Filarmonico led by Luciano Perez with soprano Dolores Moreno will entertain us. *Note different day of the week for this concert.
• Thursday, October 21, 7.30 p.m. The fully staged opera “Rigoletto” will be conducted by Luis Rodriguez and directed by Ariel Rios.

Bus trips to the JPO Summer Beethoven Series

There are still a few seats available to the two Friday concerts this month. Call Rosemary Keeling at 766-1801 to make arrangements to pay for tickets.

• Friday July 2, (4.30 departure) Beethoven symphony No. 6 and No. 8, seats available
• Friday July 9, (4.30 departure) Reineke flute concerto, Beethoven symphony No. 3, seats available
• Sunday July 18, (10.30 departure) Bus full

Tickets are 200 pesos for members and 300 pesos for non members. We will have dinner at a good restaurant in Guadalajara before the Friday evening concerts.

Scholarship Auditions

Viva will hold auditions for promising music students seeking Viva educational grants on August 24 at 1.00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Church. Members are welcome to attend and listen.
